Getting to WNB

Air Niugini flies to and from Hoskins, West New Britain, from Port Moresby on a daily basis.  Other third level airlines also fly via Hoskins from other parts of PNG.

A 60-day Tourist Visa can be obtained for a fee, prior to departure or on arrival in Port Moresby.

There are a number of ferries which call in at Kimbe on their way to and from Lae and Rabaul, the famous former capital of East New Britain Province, which was devastated by volcanic eruption in 1994.  There are also local passenger and cargo boats which make their way from Kimbe to other destinations in WNB.  Contact the operators directly for further information about these vessels.
