MV
Star Dancer is the luxury option for live aboard diving in Kimbe Bay and surrounding waters along the northern coast of New Britain, such as Witu
Islands to the North West and the Willaumez Peninsula. MV Star
Dancer also operates from the port of Rabaul on the east end of New Britain
Island diving the Gazelle Peninsula.
The diving conditions will
range from quiet no current dives to drift dives along spectacular walls, but
the majority of diving is on sea mounts (or "bommies") so there is
something for everyone. The reefs are a photographer's paradise. Pristine and
colourful corals are home to a variety of fish, crustacean & invertebrate life.
Many of the reefs have resident schools of barracuda, tuna & jacks. A range of
shark species are regularly sighted.
Most diving is from MV Star Dancer's spacious dive deck, with easy access via the water level dive platform. Some of the reefs are current washed; without current the spectacular marine life would not be there, however, the wide range of dive sites means that it is not necessary to dive at a site if currents are unmanageable at the time.
MV
Star Dancer has a multi-system TV/video unit for video tape & video camera
playback, a compact disc player & cassette deck. There is a slide projector &
viewer on board. If you have a favourite movie, a slide show or a video to
share, we encourage you to bring it along! You may also bring your own favourite
musical tapes, CD's, etc.

Aboard the MV Star Dancer gratuities are not included. We prefer that our guests reward our crew based on their performance. It is the policy on Dancer Fleet vessels to pool any collected gratuities and divide these among the crew, since we believe no one crew member has the opportunity to give exceptional service without the assistance and support of all other crew members.
MV Star Dancer is a non-smoking vessel, except in the designated outdoors smoking area of the Lido Deck. Smoking is not permitted in any area where all guests must be assembled for any reason, for example, at dive briefings.
Guests are prohibited from bringing game-taking equipment - such as fishing tackle or spear guns - on board the MV Star Dancer. Guests may remove nothing from the sea.
